Batbox Electronics Project

There’s a fantastic website by Tony Messina (Build a Simple Bat Detector (freevar.com)) that details a lovely, simple bat detector circuit design;

This is a perfect little project for students inexperienced with circuits and soldering. The circuit is simple enough that students can not only understand the components easily — a couple of Op-amps and a digital divider — but also plan and construct their own stripboard builds. The components are cheap and robust enough to survive building by first-time electronics engineers.

Along with 15 students earlier this year I did just that with fantastic results:

I highly recommend this as a satisfying and educational project.
